 General Information
- The self-rescue mask is a breathing apparatus that protects against lack of oxygen, smoke, gases and dust.
- It is mandatory for anyone who needs to access the LHC complex or the underground area of SPS machine.

- Self-rescue masks, specific to the use of the TE-EPC group, are managed centrally and made available in lockers on the 2nd floor of building 866.
- Hafid Kadir ensures their provision and follow-up via the CERN Central Store service, which checks their compliance and performs maintenance.
- Each user is, in turn, responsible for the proper use of the mask . He shall report to Hafid Kadir if the mask fell or received a shock. The compliance of the mask will be checked again.

Rules of use
- PRE-REQUISITE - Each user is required to:
- have successfully completed the CERN training related to the use of the self-rescue mask; Self-rescue Mask training
- request the access to the keys of the lockers via ADaMS Access Management System : permission "0866K2-011 - 866 2eme etage masque autosauveteur"
- The rules of use for the TE-EPC group are the following:
- The self-rescue masks are available in the lockers located on the 2nd floor of building 866. The keys of the lockers are available by presenting your access card in front of the key cabinet.
- Once the self-rescue mask in your possession, leave the key on the corresponding locker, in order to avoid losing it.
- Check the mask compliance:
- if the date of validation on the sticker on the mask is correct
- if the seal is not broken
- if the visual indicator on a Savox mask is not pink or colourless
- if the mask is not deformed or shows no trace of projection
- In case of non-conformity, return the self-rescue mask to Hafid Kadir and use a proper mask.
- During the intervention, wear the mask on you or it shall always be at hand.
- Do not leave the mask in your car.
- When you have finished, put the mask back in the locker, close the door and put the key in the key cabinet.
